At 2:52 Greetings Xenophiles!
On this day in 1867 Swedish Chemist Alfred Nobel patented dynamite - yes - THAT Alfred Nobel.
So we started with Dynamite by Mud - from 1973 - the first band I ever saw live. Blew my mind when their suits appeared to change colour. I’d never seen stage lighting like that before.
On this day in 1895 Russian scientist Alexander Stepanovich Popov demonstrated his invention - the world’s first radio receiver in St. Petersburg. It was useless, of course, until Marconi invented the radio transmitter. Today is celebrated as Radio Day in Russia.
Exactly 85 years ago today, in 1941, Glen Miller recorded the Chattanooga Choo Choo - the first record to ever go ‘gold’ by selling 1.2 million copies.
In 1952 the concept of the integrated circuit was first bublished by Geoffrey Dummer. This paved the way for the silicon chips that are now powering the world. And your iPhone. And enables digital nomads like this week’s guest to exist.

Next Chapter
Moving back to the United States with my long-term girlfriend (who’s american as well). But I’ll come back to visit often and if I’m able, eventually I’d like to get a more permanent living situation here.
Learn piano, start a herb garden, buy some art. All the things that I can’t do while living out of a suitcase. Settle down a bit. Oh and also go to baghdad, I’ve heard iraq is cool.
