Intro Track
At 3:15 or 3:05 - Greetings Xenophiles - It’s International Tea Day! And Chardonnay day, so pick your poison.
On this day in 1904 FIFA was officially founded in Paris.
In 1927 American aviator Charles Lindbergh completed the first solo nonstop flight across the Atlantic Ocean, touching down in Paris after roughly 33 and a half hours.
Exactly 5 years later, to the day, Amelia Earhart landed near Londonderry, Northern Ireland, completing the first solo transatlantic flight by a woman. Only took her 17 hours.
Today in 1916 Britain began to move the clocks forward for “Summer Time” (daylight saving time). And to this day nobody is sure why.
Did you know there’s such a thing as a nuclear powered lighthouse? The first one ever opened on this day in 1964, in Chessa-peake Bay.
Happy Birthday Mr. T. 74 today.
